About Favus

The Latin term "favus," meaning "bee colony," serves as the etymological origin for the phrase "World Wide Web". This linguistic connection is not coincidental. Despite the apparent differences between bee colonies and the World Wide Web, they both exemplify comparable principles of collaboration, communication, specialization, scalability, and adaptability within their respective environments.

These principles extend beyond bee colonies and the World Wide Web; they are also fundamental for effectively managing modern, large-scale enterprises. In the business context, terms like "agile," "open source," "cloudification," and "innovation" often encapsulate these guiding principles. For us, these shared foundational principles serve as the basis upon which we provide guidance, while tailoring our advice to the specific requirements of our clients, taking into account their unique business backgrounds and cultures.

Principles for effectively managing modern large-scale enterprises

  • Decentralization and Collaboration: Teams collaborate towards goals, with each team member assigned a distinct role that empowers them to operate independently.
  • Communication and Information Transmission: Team members share information through explicitly established communication channels to ensure knowledge is accessible to everyone.
  • Hierarchy and Specialization: There is a clear hierarchy along which distinct services are provided by specialized actors.
  • Growth and Scalability: The service delivery can expand or contract based on needs and available resources.
  • Interaction with the Environment: Actors adapt to technological advancements and new demands but also respond to environmental shifts.
